Hello again! News about the shop.

Dear everyone (if there is still someone out there!)
How is 2011 treating you?
I hope your year is being as delightful as mine is being.
I am back for a reason.
I have had a lot of time to think and to re-think and then think a bit more.
The shop has been closed for about three months although I've been able to keep up with messages left here and there.
I am here to announce that the shop will be open again from the 15th of March. But. There is always a but. Unless I change my mind, I'll re-open the shop only to close it perpetually before summer. I would expect a similar course of events for this blog as well.
I am so, so thankful for everything Nosideup has brought to my life, for all the people I've met in the way, and for all the things I've learnt. It's been nothing but positive and extraordinary.
Nonetheless, I feel thet it is time for me to move on to new things, which would not flourish under the Nosideup brand, neither would it allow me enough time to make them progress, like Les Ulldes.
I'll sell the Ladies prints, but there will be no new models, I'll re-stock the postcards and I'll possibly print a few more totes for those that did not manage to get one the first time.
I am hoping this last go at Nosideup will be as fantastic as it trajectory. And i'll be delighted if you decide to join me in this adventure one last time!

Postcards!

"Well, well, well.
The ladies are having a fun time.
I felt so sorry that quite a few of the limited edition prints were finished or about to finish, and I was missing the ladies in them. So I've gathered them all in a fabulous sort of postcard party!
These are 10 x 15 cms and have a hand-drawn back printed on them. The card I've used is 250 grs and can be drawn on for further customization!
They come lovingly packed and ready to be shipped all over the world. Who are you sending these ladies to? Where are they going to travel to?
So many stories will arise!"

I've been thinking of presenting the do's as postcards for a while and have finally got round to it.
In this way, you can now acquire a Nosideup hairdo portrait at so many different levels:

Own portrait $ 75
Limited edition prints $20
Printed Bags $15
Postcards $10

How do you like them?
Also, find Nosideup in facebook!

POST IT!

I've just seen my latest activity in Facebook and realized I've been recommending post-its to people. Random me. So, just to culminate this sticky stationary spree, I'm offering a short list of super awesome post-its for your daily posty needs (clicking on images should link to their shops).
Plus! Magnetic origami page markers (I just thought they were too awesome not to share).

Nosideup shop: new, new, new!

Dear everyone, as promised Nosideup is back up, and so much has been happening in there!
You can now find a lot of rather abstract paintings I made in Barcelona. Most of these are made with liquid watercolors, a marvelous condensed pigment that leaves a velety finish and, lots of the time, unexpected hues and textures.
These paintings are mostly explorations of colors and finishes, and have amazingly subtle pigmentation and feeling.
In the next few days I plan to add Paperbling to Nosideup and have it all uner one (virtual) roof.
I hope you enjoy the changes, and please let me know what you think!

Stone goodness

How can some rocks be so extremely irresistible and appealing?

Ask stonestudiostoo. They manage very, very well.

I have a few ideas for this hard beauties. They are gorgerous!

Hanging Henry

We found this AWESOME tray wit ver colorful Henry VIII in a local thrift store.

He's about to be hung from our walls!

Free shipping is finishing!

Just a quick note, the Nosideup free shipping month-long offer is expiring on the 15th of October.
Just so that you know.
Thanks!

Mati Rose

Remember I sold my first PaperBling yesterday?

Well, it is most likely it happened because of Mati Rose, who posted my work on her blog.

Now, that's awesome by itself, but it so happens that Mati Rose is a bold, energetic, crazy, colorful, fantastic, fabulous artist.

Check it out by yourselves!

First Paperbling

My first PaperBling sale just happened. I'm thrilled to bits!

I've done original collage panoramic postcards to go with them...

Oh, happiness is a wet stamp!

Happily doomed

Oh dear,
today was my first day of school, only that no teacher turned up. Uh uh.
I had been warned this was not like in the UK, but I don't think I was ready. Well, I've met quite a lot of new people (and quite good people they seem to be), so we are all together in this. It has quite a community feeling already (all the hours waiting for teachers to come are meant to bond somehow). So somehow, welldone for today.

Plus!
I've reopened my shops and I am over the moon. I have not been forgotten!
To everbody who has been waiting for me: THANKS! (in big capitals).
You'll find free shipping in nosideup to celebrate the anniversary of the shop. :)
And Paper and Stitch readers will have a little extra offer.
I'm very happy to be back!

loving gracia

Gracia means grace in Catalan. And i now live in Gracia, in Barcelona. This neighbourhood is so made to our measure we cannot help but approve as we discover charming places in every corner. Internet connexion not available in the flat yet, as you might have noticed.

And now i'm off to re-open the shop and get back to work (I'm back to school tomorrow, apparently).

Heavenly

I did not write "here and there" as I said I would. But I shall be forgiven for Paris was absolutely delightful. I went with the secret anger of knowing it could not live up to the hype to all the " you'll love it", "oh, it's just so beautiful", "Oh, Paris, I really love that city". But it did. And it exceeded expectatives. The museums! (Oh, Pompidou, Oh, Quai de Branly); all the boulangeries and little shops! The Parfum shops!! Oh, oh, oh.
Too good.
I'll search through the pictures that Mr M took (I am a disaster with cameras); and I'll share the nicest ones.
Oh!

BoupBoup Fabrics

Some of my most precious "souvenirs" from when we lived in Swazliand are fabrics. Sorry about the stereotype, but African fabrics are mind-blowingly colorful, fun, vibrant and different.

BoupBoup sells some textiles that remind me enormously of those. And I cannot wait to go back to get like a thousand more.

Holidays notice

Dear everyone, due to the moving and not actually having my stuff with me for a while, I will be closing the shops (not the blog) from the 28th for most of August. I will still be able to be contacted but if you were planning on needing anything during that period, please let me know asap so that I can make arrangements for that to happen :) Thanks!

Sticks and stones

I've seen these beautiful rings (the contrast, the texture!) by thegildedlilystore in Etsy today and they've made me think of my favourite ring, which just broke today (I can fix it, though).

Does anyone else get an awkward feeling when a piece of jewellery breaks (like when necklaces burst or charms fall off bracelets), like you need to read what it means?

PRO-CROC IT BAG

20 dollars of each sale go to either WWF or PETA.
See more and collaborate here.
Spread the love.

As I was saying...

... Cosa Verde is awesome, and... Now I am in Cosa Verde! Yay!

You can see my Cosa Verde shop here.

Cosa Verde

Just found out about these guys! This is a brilliant showcase of eco-minded crafters and artists. (click on pics to go to their cosa verde store).

I have to make a special mention of the jeweller on top: Elizaveta. The stuff is so crazy and grand is just amazing. It's encouraging and inspiring to see that she is selling these without a problem too!
