Wire weavers
Besides the work being fabulous, and all the economic envigoration; I think the speaker touches very briefly on a vey interesting and particular aspect of the (Southern) African material culture: the constant adapting of newcoming materials, and incorporating those into traditional crafts.

Busy, busy, busy!
I had to study a chair (Graphical Analysis and Geometrical Reproduction), I had to design, write and make a small book on design (Design I), and now I have to create a free-themed sculpture (Sculpture I). So what did I choose to do? Something easy? No! I have decided to cross-stitch a whole Barbie doll (it's meant to be a comment on what being a female is like, I was thinking of calling it " Man, I feel like a woman!", but we'll see). Bear with me, it's due on Tuesday (legs and arms to go, head about to be finished).

Beautiful traditional floors

It.
We now have (rent) a flat.
I feel like I've just woken up. There's tons to catch up in the real world (Etsy, University, jobs).
We've been deep, deep cleaning; steam cleaning, chemical cleaning (not my favourite, I swear), mechanical cleaning.
But aren't my new traditional floors beautiful? (The building was done in two parts, the latest one was in 1924). The red floral ones are in my "studio" (first time ever I'll have "a room of my own"); the birds one is my very favourite (that'll be living/eating room). The last one will be our bedroom.
Ps: I know I never posted Paris pictures. Let's say you'll find better ones in Flickr.
